The goal of this project was to showcase the use of grids within a layout by creating a menu based off of an existing restaurant. The project started off with doing research on the restaurant and its competitors in order to decide what needed to be communicated in the menu. After, I decided on the size and form of the menu; coming to a 4.5" x 7" spiral bound flip book with tabs. The project also required deciding on the appropriate typefaces, colors, and photos or graphics for the menu. I based my menu off of Succotash in Kansas City, a brunch place known for being eclectic, unique, and not-so-serious. Below are some photos of my final menu design.
